Research conducted in London at the St Georges University have begun animal testing on rats to determine if cannabis extracts could be used to help treat or even cure those suffering from various forms of cancer. The University has found that the use of CBD oil in addition traditional irradiation treatment has a stunning effect on the size of cancerous tumors. These tumors have in some cases become so small they nearly vanish making them much easier to remove when located in the brain.
The benefits of the cannabis plant elements were known before but the drastic reduction of brain cancers if used with irradiation is something new and may well prove promising for patients who are in gravely serious situations with such cancers in the future.
This being said researches from various other institutions have found that cannabis based treatments can be effective even without the use of radiation therapy.
