Stores all over the nation have begun selling CBD products regardless of the drugs legal status by marking it as a ‘dietary supplement’. While there is little official comment on its legality at this time the federal government is reportedly considering a bill that would separate CBD from marijuana’s illegal schedule 1 status.
This would allow the legal sale of CBD extracts nation-wide and would allow further study into its use without allowing the legalization of the entire plant. While many are looking for a full blown legalization I do feel this bill may be a step in the right direction to get medication into the hands of people who really need it. Those suffering from various epileptic diseases have had a lot of trouble accessing medication that can help them live a normal life and CBD based extracts appear to be the best solution. Time will tell with further research if this is the right way to go.
