The Governor of Utah has officially passed a bill that will allow patients to access medicinal cannabis oil extracted from the cannabis/marijuana plant. Lawmakers feel that it is the best way to get medicinal legalization started without causing a strain on their police force. The law however does not grant any legal method of obtain the drug leading users to deal in the black market.
The law itself only allows the drug to be used to treat epilepsy which severely restricts the patients that can benefit from it.
The governor was very emotional, as well as members of the family,” said Rep. Gage Froerer. “I think it was very important for them to have closure of this prior to the funeral.
Many believe they can obtain their medication from other states like colorado, though it is actually a Felony to transfer the drugs over state lines. In addition it breaks the local laws of every state it has to move from during it’s travel. These laws are largely useless when implemented this way.
