In a grassroots effort to reshape Florida’s medical marijuana landscape, activists are rallying to legalize home cultivation of cannabis for medical use.

The campaign, spearheaded by Wise and Free Florida, aims to gather a million signatures by January to qualify for a ballot measure. The initiative would permit patients and caretakers 21 and older to cultivate cannabis at home, provided it’s done in a secure, non-visible area.

Dispensaries and clinics across the state are hosting signature-gathering petitions, and the campaign has even garnered support from major dispensary operators like The Flowery and Parallel.

While the campaign faces legal and financial hurdles, its organizers remain optimistic, viewing home cultivation as a vital component of a robust medical marijuana program.
