WASHINGTON, DC (7News) — The D.C. Council Tuesday passed unanimously emergency legislation to let any D.C. resident 21 and older declare — with no doctor involvement — that they need marijuana for medical reasons and to just buy it form one of the seven city licensed medical marijuana stores.
“I’m all for it. They’re adults,” said Linda Green owner of Anacostia Organics, one of the stores.
She sells a range of marijuana and THC products from buds for smoking to salves for pain.
“We still would require a self-attestation; saying you have a medical need and need medical cannabis,” she said. We don’t ask what that need is. That’s not our business.”
