In a stunning turn of events Alabama has passed a new medicinal marijuana bill legalizing the possession of medicinal extracts of the marijuana plant. The states has also funded a 1 million dollar project to research the effects of CBD on patients suffering from seizures.
While the use of cannabis extracts has been legalized in Alabama it is currently not approved by the FDA, however studies like those being conducted in Alabama are paving the way to a national wide legalization of it’s use as a medicinal treatment. It is the hopes of these brave lawmakers that further studies will prove the drugs effectiveness and provide cures or treatments for other ailments. It is likely we will see other states follow suit as more and more research is released.
