Current Alabama residents have been able to legally use medicinal CBD oil if they had a note from their doctor allowing them to use the drug. However, has been an issue as current law does not legalize the possession or sale of CBD products.

This new bill should it pass would give residents the ability to legally obtain CBD oil for their ailments. Residents are pushing for fewer restrictions however as the bill in its current form would only legalize the drugs use for the treatment of epilepsy. Previous revisions of the bill allowed it’s use as a treatment for neasua and various other conditions.

Residents have also been calling for the legal THC content be raised to anywhere from 3-5% as treatments with higher levels of THC have been shown to aid those suffering from epilepsy in patients that continue to seize after lower THC oils.
