A local Ohio family from the city of Independence is moving today in order to seek medical assistance for their son who suffers from tens of seizures a day. The family lives day by day in fear of losing their son in a state that refuses to allow medication that could save his life.
“Seizure after seizure, he couldn’t function. He couldn’t learn anything. He’s two and a half and he’s still learning to walk,” she said.
The family is relocating to Colorado, a state well known for its open stance on the use of marijuana both as a treatment and as a recreational drug. The openness of the law there allows many forms of medicinal marijuana to be cultivated and created. This means more options than any other state for legal medicinal marijuana treatments.
With luck they will make it there as they’ve publicly announced they are treating their son locally until they can move, though its a move that might just put the parents in prison. Due to the current laws here in ohio he’s not helping his son. Legally it’s child endangerment and distribution of illegal substances to minors… and that’s just to start.
