Residents in Missouri were thrilled to hear that the break through CBD treatment currently used in several other states for use as a treatment for epilepsy was finally legalized in early 2014. These same residents however have been met with further struggle for treatment as local Doctors have been refusing to prescribe the use of CBD for their patients illnesses. Currently only nine Doctors are willing suggest such a treatment state-wide and only a mere 15 residents certified to use the new drug.
Doctors fears seem to stem from the fact that marijuana derived drugs have not yet been tested or approved by the FDA due to the current legal battle between states and the Federal Government. While these Doctors are holding out for an FDA label others have been using these drugs in their own states with very positive results, hopefully for the sake of these patients FDA trails can soon begin.
