Studies have been taking place at research facilities, hospitals and Universities around the globe. While many of these studies have nothing but positive results others have been less promising.
There have been plenty of cases for example where the use of cannabidiol does not help the patient in any visible way, some patients simply continue to decline.
There is definitely a risk to testing any new drug however due to the way these laws have been created and our Federal government remaining fairly rigid we are forced to research and conduct trials without legal authorization. We know that marijuana and its extracts effect everyone differently however some claim that the cbd extracts have actually caused patients to worsen.
There is little proof however that cbd can cause a negative effect as many patients who experienced a negative down turn had completely stopped taking other medications that were intended to treat their disease. While it is true some patients may not have a positive reaction we don’t know for sure if the down turns were caused by cannabidiol or a lack of other treatments. It is clear further study is needed.
