The governor of Virginia recently signed a law to provide a defense for epilepsy patients who are charged with the possession of cbd oil. Patients are currently required to have a recommendation from their Doctor in order to use the medication legally. Many are not aware however that the current law in Virginia does not make it legal to produce or sell cbd oil for any purpose meaning that patients are required to illegally obtain their medication for the black market with absolutely no promise that their oil was prepared in a safe manner.
While the lawmakers in Virginia seem to think this is helping protect patients it would seem that there are major health issues that are not being addressed by allowing patients to use a black market to receive their medication.
