Under Senate Bill 26-007, signed by Gov. Jared Polis in March, participating facilities must verify patients’ state registry cards, document usage in medical records, and set written guidelines for storage and administration. Facilities aren’t required to participate and may suspend it if federal enforcement threatens their operations.
