You may recall an article published last year in which we announced that North Carolina had legalized the use of CBD extracts in seizure patients. Myself and other criticized that the new law was utterly ineffective as it made no path to allow the legal production or distribution of extracts forcing patients to obtain their medication illegally. Doctors have also been refraining from writing prescriptions because they do not wish to be held accountable for prescribing drugs to patients without FDA testing or approval to back their decisions.
Officials in North Carolina apparently have finally seen the light that this law is blatantly ineffective however at this time nothing has been done to remedy this, our legal system is slow and unfortunately it seems most legal officials have little to no understanding of how marijuana works. The sad state of affairs it seems that many states call it progress to legalize something without making it legal to obtain.
