Florida has made significant strides through its medical marijuana program, providing over 800,000 registered patients with a safe and reliable path to alleviating their discomfort. As president of the Medical Marijuana Business Association, we are dedicated to supporting the accessibility, effectiveness and, above all, safety of medical marijuana for patients in the Sunshine State.

Recent comments by Attorney General Ashley Moody and Gov. Ron DeSantis have underscored their concerns about the dangers of illicit street drugs being laced with dangerous additives, including fentanyl. We agree with those concerns. In fact, a recent study found that nine out of 10 illicit marijuana samples contained pesticides, in striking contrast to regulated products.
