Texas Adds Three Conditional Licensees as Medical Cannabis Program Grows
Texas is moving to expand its tightly regulated medical cannabis market, with three additional businesses advancing in the state licensing process. The Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced it has entered Phase II of the Texas Compassionate Use Program expansion, conditionally selecting GTI Texas LLC dba RISE Dispensaries, Texas Medica Collective LLC and Cresco Labs Texas LLC. These firms join nine others named in December as the state anticipates rising patient demand.
DPS emphasized that conditional licenses do not yet permit cultivation, manufacturing, distribution or sales; each applicant must still clear further due diligence before receiving full authorization. The agency also stressed that Wednesday’s announcement does not guarantee final approval for any of the three organizations. Read the original report from KXAN via MSN.
